Have you heard about the new 'Every Kid in a Park' initiative? Do you know any 4th graders?  Or 4th grade teachers?

Starting September 1, 2015 the National Park Service will give every 4th grader and their family an annual admission pass. All you have to do is click here and apply. In no time at all you and your 4th grader will be able to check out some of our country's most beautiful natural wonders. And it's good until August 31, 2016. Pretty cool, right?

It is also available for teachers who work with 4th graders at a public or private school or for those who are involved with 4th graders through a youth organization like an after-school program or religious group. There are even activities and lesson plans that can be used to help students learn more about our national park system.

So, help spread the word to get Every Kid in a Park. See you on the trails!

    Welcome!

My family and I love to get outside and explore every chance we get. My daughter and I started this blog as a way to chronicle not only the places we have visited, but also as a way to preserve our time together. We hope you enjoy it and will make a little time for a hike with friends!
